Privacy Policy
Version 1.4 · Last updated August 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Bell Curves Educational Services (“Bell Curves,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, protects, and shares information through our websites, Student Center, learning systems, tutoring, courses, and other educational services.
Quick Summary
- We never sell your information.
- We collect what we need to teach your student well: contact info, school details, test scores, and progress.
- Schools that hire us share only what's needed, like a name, school email, grade level, and sometimes a previous test score. We use it for that program.
- We don't ask schools for health records, discipline records, academic grades, or the medical reason for a testing accommodation.
- Trusted service providers help us run our systems, take payments, send email, and deliver classes. They process information to do that work, not for their own marketing.
- We measure how our website works. We do not currently use third-party advertising or ad-retargeting pixels on our websites.
- Classes may be recorded and transcribed. Tutoring sessions may also be recorded with appropriate consent.
- AI may help us grade work, analyze results, or support our team. We do not knowingly allow AI providers to use student information to train their general-purpose models. If a service requires that use, we don't use that service for student data.
- We work with kids under 13. Schools may authorize us to use student information for school-directed programs, where permitted by law. Families who sign up directly go through a parental consent process required by law.
- Ask us anytime what we have on file about you or your child. You can also ask us to correct or delete it, subject to legal and contractual requirements.
If anything here differs from the full policy below, the full policy is what applies.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information that is reasonably needed to provide, operate, improve, and support Bell Curves services.

- account and login information;
- test scores and previous test results;
- answers to practice questions, quizzes, homework, drills, and exams;

We generally do not request a student's date of birth or age, although age may sometimes be provided to us or reasonably understood from the student's school grade level or program.
We do not ask schools or families to provide medical diagnoses or the medical reason for a testing accommodation.
2. Information Schools and Program Partners Provide
Schools, school districts, charter networks, nonprofits, government programs, and other organizations may hire Bell Curves to provide educational services.
These organizations may provide us with limited student information needed to set up accounts and provide the program. This commonly includes a student's:
- name;
- school email address;
- grade level or program; and
- sometimes a previous score on the test covered by the program.
Bell Curves does not generally request academic grades, disciplinary or behavior records, health records, teacher records, parent information, or other unrelated school records.
We use information provided by a school or program partner to provide, administer, support, evaluate, and report on the educational program for which it was provided.
3. Information Created Through Bell Curves Services
Students create additional information while participating in Bell Curves programs.
This may include:
- practice test and exam scores;
- quiz, homework, and drill results;
- question-level performance;
- strengths and areas for improvement;
- attendance;
- participation information; and
- limited instructional notes.
This information helps Bell Curves provide instruction, measure progress, identify learning needs, and evaluate programs.
4. How We Use Information
We may use information to:
- create and manage accounts;
- provide tutoring, courses, testing, and other educational services;
- personalize or improve instruction;
- administer tests, quizzes, homework, and practice activities;
- measure student progress;
- communicate with students, families, customers, and program partners;
- provide password resets and account support;
- process payments;
- schedule and operate classes;
- prepare reports;
- respond to inquiries and requests;
- maintain and improve our websites and technology;
- measure website usability and product performance;
- prevent misuse, fraud, or security problems;
- maintain appropriate business records; and
- meet legal and contractual requirements.
We do not use student information as a commercial data product.
6. Service Providers and Technology
Bell Curves uses technology providers to operate our services. These may include providers that support:
- cloud hosting and data storage;
- websites and applications;
- payment processing;
- account authentication;
- email and communications;
- online classrooms;
- customer and program inquiries;
- analytics;
- security; and
- other technology needed to operate Bell Curves.
Our customer relationship tools handle marketing leads, customers, partners, and program inquiries and are kept separate from student academic records.
Payments are processed through Stripe. Bell Curves does not directly store full payment-card details.
The specific technology providers we use may change as our services change.
These providers may process information when needed to perform services for Bell Curves. Bell Curves does not provide personal information to them for their own independent marketing or commercial purposes.
Our systems and cloud services are primarily hosted in the United States, although internet and cloud services may process information through multiple locations as part of normal operations.
7. We Do Not Sell Personal Information
Bell Curves does not sell, rent, or trade personal information.
We do not provide student, family, customer, or partner personal information to outside companies for their own:
- advertising;
- marketing;
- data brokerage; or
- unrelated commercial purposes.
Sharing information with a technology or service provider so that it can perform a service for Bell Curves is not the same as selling that information.
8. Website Analytics and Product Measurement
Bell Curves uses privacy-focused analytics tools to understand how our websites and digital services are working.
For example, we may measure:
- website visits;
- pages people use;
- how visitors find Bell Curves;
- whether website features are working;
- how people move through the site;
- whether people can find and use important tools; and
- the general performance of our marketing pages.
We do not currently use third-party advertising or ad-retargeting pixels on our websites.
If we begin using additional analytics or advertising technologies in the future, we will update this policy to describe them and any applicable choices or opt-out mechanisms required by law.
Analytics technology may process technical information such as browser, device, session, page, referral, or network information when necessary to provide these functions.
10. Children and Student Privacy
Bell Curves provides educational services to students of different ages, including children under 13.
We seek to collect only information reasonably needed to provide the student's educational service.
School-sponsored programs: Where permitted by law, a school or educational organization may authorize Bell Curves to collect and use student information for a school-directed educational service. We use that information to provide and support that service and as otherwise permitted or required by law.
We do not use school-provided student information for our own independent advertising, marketing, data brokerage, or unrelated commercial purposes.
Bell Curves also handles school-provided student information in accordance with applicable student privacy requirements, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) where it applies.
Direct enrollment: For services offered directly to children under 13, Bell Curves obtains parental or guardian consent where required by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) before collecting personal information from the child.
Parents and guardians may contact Bell Curves with questions about information we maintain about their child.
11. Testing Accommodations
Bell Curves may receive information about accommodations a student requires for testing or instruction, such as extended testing time.
We generally need to know what accommodation to provide, not the student's diagnosis, medical condition, or reason for the accommodation.
Bell Curves does not request health records to establish why an accommodation is needed.
12. Classes, Tutoring, Recordings, and Transcripts
Online classes may be recorded and transcribed for instruction, missed-class access, quality, safety, support, and development of Bell Curves educational materials.
Where supported by our classroom technology, Bell Curves may configure recordings to exclude student video. Recordings may still contain student audio, questions, participation, or other information shared during class.
Tutoring sessions may also be recorded when appropriate and subject to applicable consent requirements and Bell Curves tutoring policies. Bell Curves' Private Tutoring Agreement generally requires agreement before tutoring sessions are recorded.
Bell Curves may reuse portions of instructional recordings in other Bell Curves educational materials. We take reasonable steps to exclude or remove student-identifying information when recordings are reused beyond the class or program for which they were originally created.
Students and families should not independently record or distribute tutoring sessions without permission from Bell Curves and the instructor.
13. Artificial Intelligence and Automated Tools
Bell Curves may use technology that includes artificial intelligence or automated processing to help provide our services.
For example, these tools may assist with:
- grading;
- evaluating practice work;
- analyzing test or quiz results;
- identifying performance patterns;
- processing routine business information; and
- supporting Bell Curves staff.
Bell Curves does not knowingly agree to or permit AI providers to use student personal information to train their general-purpose models.
When an AI service provides a setting or contractual option that prevents student information from being used for model training, Bell Curves uses that option. If a service requires student information to be used to train its general-purpose models, Bell Curves does not use that service to process student information.
We do not provide student personal information to AI providers for their own advertising, marketing, data brokerage, or other unrelated commercial purposes.
14. Communications
Bell Curves may use email, phone, text messaging, or similar communications to provide:
- account information;
- password resets;
- class and scheduling information;
- service updates;
- requested information;
- customer support; and
- other communications related to Bell Curves services.
Where required, marketing communications will include an appropriate way to opt out.
15. Data Security
Bell Curves uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information.
No internet, cloud, or electronic system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
If Bell Curves becomes aware of a data security incident involving personal information, we will investigate and provide notices when required by applicable law or contract.
16. How Long We Keep Information
Bell Curves keeps personal information for as long as reasonably needed to:
- provide our services;
- maintain appropriate business and educational records;
- meet school or program requirements;
- resolve disputes;
- protect our systems; and
- comply with legal, accounting, contractual, or regulatory requirements.
Information may be deleted when it is no longer reasonably needed for these purposes.
17. Access, Correction, and Deletion
You may contact Bell Curves to ask what personal information we maintain about you or your child or to request that information be corrected or deleted.
We will honor reasonable requests subject to applicable law, contractual requirements, legitimate recordkeeping needs, and information we are required to maintain.
We may need to verify who is making the request before providing or deleting personal information.
18. Legal Requirements and Safety
Bell Curves may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:
- comply with applicable law, court orders, or legal processes;
- respond to lawful government requests;
- investigate fraud, misuse, or security incidents;
- protect students, customers, employees, or others; or
- protect Bell Curves' legal rights and systems.
19. Business Changes
If Bell Curves is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale, or transfer of some or all of its business, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Any such transfer remains subject to applicable privacy and legal requirements.
20. Your Rights Under Applicable Law
Privacy rights vary by location.
Depending on applicable law, you may have additional rights concerning access, correction, deletion, use, or disclosure of your personal information.
Nothing in this policy limits privacy rights provided by applicable law.
21. Changes to This Policy
Bell Curves may update this Privacy Policy as our services, technology, or legal requirements change.
We will update the “Last Updated” date when the policy changes. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice when appropriate or required.
