SHSAT

Choose your tutor

Private SHSAT tutoring, 3 levels.

1:1 SHSAT prep built for a test where you can't skip, explore, or come back.

The SHSAT went digital in 2025, but this November is the first time it's given in its new computer-adaptive format. No skipping, no exploring ahead, no saving hard questions for later. Every one of the 100 questions is answered once, in order, and locked behind you. Strategies built for the old test do not transfer. Bell Curves builds instruction specifically around how the new format actually works.

Your child is also not chasing a fixed score. The SHSAT ranks students against each other for a limited number of seats, once a year, with no second chance in this cycle. Like every other prep company, we can estimate a composite number. We just don't think chasing one helps. It can't be verified until real scores are released, and it doesn't tell you how to actually improve. We focus instead on what does: accuracy by question type, pacing, and consistency. Our approach is accumulating points, not chasing a calculated score.

How Tutoring Works

Three steps from request to results.

1

Tell Us About Your Child

Fill out the form. An advisor follows up within one business day to talk through your child's timeline, target schools, and which tutor level fits.

2

Get Matched

We match your child with a SHSAT instructor trained on the mechanics of the new computer-adaptive format. Sessions are scheduled around your calendar.

3

Start Preparing

Sessions start with a diagnostic across ELA and Math, then build from there. Every session targets pacing and accuracy under the new locked-forward format, no skipping, no going back.

Why private tutoring

The most targeted prep we offer.

Built for a Test That Just Changed

This November is the first administration of the new computer-adaptive SHSAT: no skipping, no exploring, no going back. Sessions are built around exactly how the new format works, not the strategies families remember from the old paper test.

The Right Tutor for a Ranking Test

Three tutor levels, priced by experience. Because the SHSAT ranks students against each other for a fixed number of seats, sharpening accuracy and pacing under the new locked-forward format matters as much as content review. Not sure which fits? Talk to an advisor.

Flexible Scheduling

Sessions are built around your family's calendar and needs, in whatever setting works best for your child. With one administration each year, starting when your child is ready matters more than waiting for the next class to begin.

Common questions

What people ask before they enroll.

The three levels reflect the tutor's experience, not the material covered. A student just starting SHSAT prep often does well with a Tutor. A student already performing well, where small gains in accuracy and pacing take real skill to unlock, usually benefits more from a Senior or Expert Tutor. Expert Tutors have 10 to 20 years of experience and are best suited for students who need bespoke instruction for the final stretch. Not sure which fits your child? Talk to an advisor.
